Seeing him in the dugout for England yesterday makes me wonder why he couldn't have combined the two roles.
Allardyce had Shakespeare on his staff and no one had issue with him combining Leicester and England. Roy Keane combined Villa and Ireland, admittedly he quit Villa early but no one had any qualms with him doing both indefinitely. Then we had McLaren who was freely allowed to combine coaching duties with United and England then return to Sven's coaching set up while he was Middlesbrough manager.
But when it came to Holland he had to choose one or the other, was there any reason he couldn't combine his club job with us and the national team like they did?
Why couldn't Holland do both?
