How good are they?
Better than what we have, or another random signings?
Manolas and Rugani

Both good players but not what we need really..more pressing areas in wingback, CM, winger, probably CF..basically anywhere but CB lol

Agree MOJO. My Juventus supporting friend said that he is a great player, and he is also surprised that Juventus are selling him. The only reason he could think of was think Juventus always need to sell to create funds in order to buy.
And Chavy, I also agree with ------- (the man with no name?) - Zouma is good in the air and is strong, but he is nowhere close to being as good as a player like Koulibaly. He's not even as good as Rudiger - let alone Koulibaly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Koulibaly was very poor technically and lacked self confidence in his early days at Napoli, Sarri transformed the guy, Zouma is a powerful player and with actual football coaching under Sarri he may go up a level.
Christensen is a weak link imo, He's good technically but towards the end of the season even that part of his game was questionable and he didn't really bring much to the team, With Cahill coming back in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sarri may be a good coach but he isn't a miracle worker, people may cite Koulibaly but i saw a bit of him under Rafa and he had the raw ingredients, Zouma simply doesn't.
He is to cumbersome on the ball and to go from that to what Sarri expects is too much, he also has weak positional sense which is also a must for Sarri. He's been a regular in PL footy for 18 months, the first half of 15/16 under our worst defense for years and with Stoke who had the leagues worst defense last season. It may not be all his fault but imagine if he we were linked to buying a player with a similar track record? The fans would want the board's head on a plate.
He's a nice guy but a painfully average footballer.

Zouma only really played in the 2nd half of the 2015/16 season and was impressive until his injury vs Utd. JT, Cahill and Azpilicueta were all bang average in 2015/16 and all went on to play a big role in us winning the title.
Maldini would've struggled in that Stoke team, They were painfully below par for PL regulars.
I'm afraid we are going to have to agree to disagree.
Zouma deserves a chance in preseason at least.

Put it this way, if Zouma was owned by Stoke and we were linked would you be in anyway exicted?
I thought he was poor in 15/16, it was the desperation to see Cahill dropped that led to even his abysmal performances being passed off as good (same with Baba/Ivan) yes i know the others weren't exactly pulling up trees but they have a track record which Zouma doesn't have.
I have personally seen nothing from Kurt that screams Chelsea quality even as a squad player but i'd be happy to be proved wrong.

Context is needed.. Would I want Zouma if he was owned by Stoke? I probably wouldn't no; however if Palace owned RLC I wouldn't want Chelsea to sign him... I want RLC back because he's on our books and he would be an upgrade on what we have in Drinkwater, Barkley and Bakayoko.
Zouma IMO is an upgrade on Cahill and Christensen... Technical ability aside Christensen isn't a great defender.
So do I think Zouma could come in a be of use to the squad as he would cost us £0? Yes. Rugani and Manolas would cost upwards of £35m and right now that money would be better spent in other areas especially now as Chelsea seem reluctant to splash more than they have to.

On the face of it CB may be low on the list of prioritize but it's arguably the key area in making a Sarri system work. Conte likes to play out of the back but does give players a pass if they are boxed in and/or have no options, Sarri demands it no matter what. It's vital our CB's are good under pressure.

CB is a vital position in Sarris system ofcourse it is, Who would you start in the back 4? Assuming we sign Rugani.

Probably Rugani and Azpilicueta. If we sign Hysaj i reckon Sarri will play Cesar at CB.

There's a few rumours floating about that Azpilicueta could be off to Athletic Bilbao! weird rumour for sure!
There's a lot of players to choose from... anyone of Luiz, Rugani, Christensen, Azpilicueta and Rüdiger could be be starting in the centre of a back 4.
Interesting times indeed.
