Cant believe i would ever say this but aside from being relieved that we won a shoot out I was also glad that Henderson did not end up the fall guy. Not a fan of his (understatement) but he certainly would not have deserved that particular accolade after a really strong performance

I think hendo role is to be defensive midfielder and provide the transition of play. In thst effect he did that as apart from one long range shot Colombia really did not create anything. Players like Alli should e.g. the ones creating. Unfortunately he could not deliver yesterday.

Also reported in echo that Henderson just created new record of longest unbeaten run for an England player. 22 wins and 6 draws. He must be doing something right. Dint get me wrong I do think in world football there are tons more better than him in that role but for England I can not think of anyone much more better.

Leave Henderson alone how is he expected to take a penalty when he's never played the ball forward

Reminds me of Barry 'the Crab' Ferguson at Birmingham City!

He’s our best player in the system in midfield. Another solid, yet not exceptional performance. You could tell he was shiiiiiting himself for the penalty, it happens.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Was good against Tunisia and Panama but was pretty bang average agaisnt better opposition in Colombia. This was a poor England performance, and our midfield lynchpin barely created a chance all night. Our forwards were starved of service, partly due to Henderson being such a limited midfielder. Much like when Liverpool played Real in the CL final, while he ran around a lot, he was missing when going forward.

Wow.
Totally clueless comment from somebody who clearly knows absolutely nothing about football and just reacts to results/headlines.

Wow.
Do you want to debate this properly like a man, without the need for an overly dramatic response?
Henderson is a limited midfielder. Are you disputing that? He doesnt drive play forward like Modric or Rakitic, doesnt act as a pivot like Busquets, nor acts as a destroyer like Kante. He’s a jack of all trades; which is fine for the Premier League. But in games like today, when there’s a clear stalemate, he doesn’t really offer much. In my opinion we were crying out for a midfielder like Carrick - if only he was 5 years younger.
Trust thats ok with you!

Henderson has been one of the best players in Russia in an England shirt so far.
Trust thats ok with you!
Can you handle that.

Its not his job in the team to drive play forward like Modric or Rakitic, neither is it to be a destroyer like Kante.
There's more to the art of midfield play than those two scenarios which proves you are totally clueless and somebody who clearly knows absolutely nothing about football and just reacts to results/headlines.
Is that good enough 'Debating properly like a man' for you?
Thanks for coming.

Then why has Klopp signed a player like Fabinho?

Because as hes said, henderson isnt a specialist destroyer and klopp wanted one.
And before you post it:
He also signed keita because hendersons job isnt to drive the team forward, and we needed someone to do it.

Is it? He is saying that our current DM's role isn't to destroy or drive the team forward... But we just signed a DM that does both...?
So Klopp clearly wants a DM that can do those things. It's 'not Henderson's job' to do those things not because Klopp has told him 'don't do those things', it's not his job because he is incapable of doing said things.
Or do you think Klopp is telling Henderson "Don't dribble and create space for the team! And you better not tackle anyone!"?
