Clubs like Juventus don't spend £105m without doing due dilligence. Ronaldo is still a top quality player, and playing in a slower league will suit him. Ronaldo himself will have calculated this. Plus, the marketing opportunities - particularity shirt sales, will see Juventus get their money back.

Ronaldo's arrival could see a sea-change in the way Serie A clubs market themselves. They have been slow on the uptake concerning the increasing commercialisation of the game in the last 20 years. If you go to many Serie A grounds, you cannot find the club shop. Juventus are ahead of most, and the arrival of an undoubted superstar of Ronaldo's stature might bring more marketing to the league, with other clubs trying to cash in.

Clever from Ronaldo's end, too, as- like Beckham- he is trying to build his brand across multiple countries in the last years of his career. Also, he ensure he leaves Madrid with more goals than games.

Who cares, whether Kane is better or not. He is still currently worth more than Ronaldo, and that is all you need to know.

Surprises me Juve actually managed to push their average age up and spend £100m doing so. I can only imagine Juve hope to get back the money from TV and image rights. Shirt and ticket sales ain't gonna cut it...

He's not better, whether you care about that fact doesn't matter. He's worth more due to age and what he means to the selling club. Players are not just valued on their ability. It's why Zaha is quoted at £70m. He's worth that much to Palace. On ability alone he isn't worth that much. Just as Lukaku was bought for £75m. He's not worth that much, but we could see after being sold how much he was worth to an Everton side that failed to replace him.

The owners also want to make him the dace of Ferrari. Also owned by the owners of Juventus. And other than Messi, there isn't a player who can match him.

I have seen plenty of adverts with Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar, and to a certain extend Pogba on here. No adverts about England (Smalling, while English, his adverts have been around United) or Harry Kane.

They know why they got him and they will extract as much as they can. Also, despite his age, he will improve them.
