Why do England always get knocked out by goals which could be nullified by basic defending?

Because they weren't tested enough.

And when they were, Pickford was unreal.

We were cheering on England. I support a pub team and although England play pub football in its most basic form, it was good to see a team at least attempt to play pub football and try and get success with it.
