Thinking of quitting the gym, football on Saturdays & training in the week.
I'm 28 now and feel much fitter, and in better shape than I have ever been. However, copious amounts of BBQs & all day drinking sessions during the heatwave and World Cup has made me realise it's just so much easier, and more fun being unhealthy.
Also barely get any free time with football at the weekend, couple of runs after work in the week or gym sessions, football training, 6 a side. Tried getting up early and going to the gym before work but fck that.
Any tips for speeding up the process & coping with the mental aspects, eg coming to terms with it and learning to be happy with being overweight & unfit?

Sorry didn't see it
Yeah I improved my stamina a fair bit tbh but as the weather got colder the more excuse I gave myself to not do it I can at least play a decent game of footie now though

I was not in great shape before but have got fat since rupturing my achilles last year. I'm not like a whale but I have the beginnings of a belly and love handles. Help me.

Oh, plus I have a toddler and a 5 month old so I have no time in the evenings until they go to bed, at which point I have to usually reassmble my house before collapsing in a heap and passing out for 3 hours until the baby wakes again

Hows it going? Assume you're no better off in the free time department yet

Order a Domino's meal for 4 and eat it all for yourself Mike.
The same Mike who once picked up a suitcase from Argos circa late 2016.

Meh. I can play a game of footie without feeling like I might have a heart attack now.

In a weird development, I look forward to going to the gym now.
Recently made some gainz, gave up, felt real jiggly again, and that motivated me to look forward to torturing myself in the gym again

Good stuff.
I prefer it in the winter months, most people would say summer they're more motivated but I think with the shiyte long miserable nights there's little else to do. Plus it feels great binge eating and drinking for weeks over Christmas and NY knowing you've earned it

Yeah, I cba doing anything in the summer, it's a real struggle to drag yourself to the gym, especially after work. Morning workouts actually feel good, but if you have a lie in once, you'll do it repeatedly

If this was 2019... What kind of Havoc has lockdown in 2020 wrecked on your motivation?
