I was impressed with Perisic,Modric and Rebic,Trippier ,Hazard and M'Bappe,
from South America, Carillo. and that Japanese goalkeeper was very good.

Yeh I'm pretty certain I watched the world cup mojo did and not the opening poster.

Mbappe is off to Real, best young talent at the tournament. Tibo had a great tournament and really liked Perisic from Croatia. Maguire for England looked really good, much better than Stones who imo had a poor tournament. Greizeman I think was my player of the tournament felt everything went through him, again a little confused with Modric getting it, felt he was pretty ineffective in the knockout stages and the guys further up the field I felt controlled the game better.

Giroud's almost 100% appearance in this comp has frankly baffled me....he's been mainly awful....but he's a world champion....who am I to critisise

I am not sure he has been awful. I think he did the job that Deschamps wanted him to do. France scored a lot of goals and made a lot of chances and Giroud drawing defenders out to leave spaces for Griezmann and Mbappe to move into was key to that. Some strikers score goals and that's all they do - some are team players.

One thing that stood out for me was how the world was looking at Kane after the first round. I read various article in Catalan and Spanish about how he was the best 9 in the world. But as soon as he felt the media gaze, he disappeared. Pressure too much? Good player but I don't think he has the guts to be the best.

Feck off, Henderson did alright but he didn't stand out. Trippier and Maguire made more of an impression than shouty.
