Well firstly I was at the Lane today and fair play to spurs who ripped us apart today especially in midfield. To be very honest, we can complain as much as we want about the refereeing decisions and being down to 9 men but we simple were NOT good enough today. For me the tactics were all wrong today: Henderson simply just cannot cut it at the moment. For sure he's only 21 and will only get better but come on Kenny you can't keep playing him game in game out against quality opposition not even in his favored position! Should have played Kuyt there on the wing or up top instead of Carroll.
That brings to me the big man - i wrote an article recently stating i was slightly concerned with Carroll. Today my concern has become doubt. Yes he had to play most of the game in midfield but I still felt he was not up to it - lost possession way to easily and was slow. I just really don't see what the guys skills are: he can head the ball and jump high but that's about it really. And we all know what happens when we just start hoofing the ball (Crouch was at the club).
Most of our midfield went missing today also - Adam didn't do himself any favours although the first yellow was slightly harsh. Lucas couldn't really have done anything else. Downing was non existent and lastly why on earth did Kenny play Skrtel to deal with Bale on that left wing is really beyond me! He was a huge liability throughout and I think we all knew it was a matter of time before he got sent off. Also we need to start easing down the amount of minutes Carragher is playing because he simply cannot be a regular starter as firstly he's getting on a bit and has started to make a few more mistakes I've noticed.
On the positive side, Coates didn't do too bad despite getting a yellow and us conceeding four. We need a decent result next week otherwise I really can see fourth slipping away at this rate. YNWA

I agree with all your points. I also think Suarez is having to spend so much time running after the ball that he's not being as effective as he should be attacking-wise because he's run out of steam. Anyone agree?

Pretty much spot on, and we should all be magnanimous in defeat..Spurs were a class apart, and i do not like that; one bit!!!!

our first choice right back was injured
our second choice right back was injured
our third choice right back is 12 years old and cost us 2 points v Sunderland
I'm not sure what other choice we had.

Spot on. Full marks to Spurs, they fully deserved the three points. Time for Kenny to make the harsh but inevitable decisions about the team. JimmyTheRed
