Did Levy mug Poch off?

Genuine question. Why would Poch sign a new contract with Spurs based on the fact that it looks as if there aren’t funds available to really add the quality that Spurs need this summer. Did Levy stitch him up and promise major investment this summer as he worried about losing him to Real Madrid....

To go to the next level, Spurs need a big player. Someone who has been there and done it and they can only do that by spending money. Something Levy seems reluctant to do every window. I admire what spurs have done in terms of net spend and results but sooner or later their top talent will get frustrated by the lack of trophies.

Has Levy played a blinder here from a business perspective and is Poch now stuck with the same group and possibly Jack Grealsih?!!

Difficult to argue otherwise. Now that the Real Madrid job is out of the equation, Poch doesn't have as much Levyerage in any sort of negotiation, and realistically Spurs do need to pay off their new stadium.

It's difficult for any club to pay for a new stadium and reinvest heavily in the squad.

I wonder if it was possible for Spurs to do something similar to Liverpool and use the increased revenue money to pay for a stadium expansion and then using that money to pay for a better quality of player?

Why are you so obsessed with what Spurs are doing? Focus on your own club

But spurs are my second team?

I doubt he lied, Poch got a massive salary increase to manage on a shoe string budget.

Spurs are a long way from challenging for the title.

Maybe they came to an agreement then - I’ll keep you top 4 Levy if you can’t invest but I want a shiiiit load of money for it. Then I’m off after a year if you still aren’t backing me

yeah... it's pretty scary to think the champions of last year by 20 odd points just signed a game changing player that would probably get a start for any of the top 6 !!! and don't need to sell anyone they don't want to !!

I think the paying for the stadium arguement gets weaker with every new TV deal. Because of the huge new TV deal we are not in the same cash strapped position Arsenal were in when they built their stadium.

Some proper bed Shiitters on this site. Levy doesn't even come out of hibernation until 2 weeks of the window to go.

"Villa's dire cash woes have been eased by Egyptian billionaire Nassef Sawiris and investor Wes Edens buying a controlling stake from Dr Tony Xia.
Spurs last week belatedly opened talks with Villa as chairman Daniel Levy had been stalling to drive the price down"

YUP,....typical Levy. Now for the next Sissoko!
