I didn't get to see the game today but sounds like he had a great 45 minutes. With William more than likely on the move, hazards future up in the air, Odoi has been talked up for a long time, could this finally be his chance ? Personally regardless of if we lose one of them I would love to see him given a chance, from the bits and pieces iv seen of him he's an electric talent, something we've not seen at the bridge for a long time. Would you be happy with him making the step up to a first team player this season ?

Really good chance for the younger players to put down a marker this season with the Europa League group stages.
It's how Harry Kane broke into Spurs' team so why not someone like Hudson Odoi for us?

I agree with you in regards to Europa League provides a great opportunity to try out the young players but for me pre season games are 100% meaningless and there is next to nothing to be learnt from them other than a players conditioning and fitness.

I agree with regards to the first team squad. For the younger players one or two pre season cameos will decide whether they get shipped away to the Dutch league or have a real opportunity to break into our first XI via the Europa.

I think Hudson Odoi did himself a world of good with his performance against Perth. Had a few poor touches but so did everyone, its the opening pre season game. His intent to always attack the defender, his skills and his quick footballing brain were on display for all to see. I'd be surprised (and disappointed) if he wasn't given a squad place.

Hudson Odoi was brilliant last season in the cameos he showed, He has electric pace and skill to go with it.
Rumours that the club are preparing a new 5 year contract for him and Sarri is promoting him to the first team.

Hudson-Odoi should definitely be in the first team squad with a view to playing a fairly substantial amount of first team football this coming season. The Cup games especially the Europa League is a golden chance to throw him in there and let him get as much first team experience as possible.

And forget loaning him out, when you have a player as good as he is you just play him. We haven't been very good at doing this with our young players but with this kid we have the perfect chance to start doing it.

Results aren't that big a factor but i would say the performances can show some sort of relevance, barring a player being ahead in terms of fitness (ie Moses always use to smash pre season because he keeps in better shape than most footballers in the off season).
I called 15/16 being shet based on the performances in pre season, it was just so obvious although i weren't expecting a relegation battle.
