If they keep hold of all their players and get Zaha and Grealish who they are very strongly linked with I'd say that's a decent window. Maybe need another cm

I think we’d only Smalling to help fund Toby.

Maybe Jose has been told to sell to buy. And with the numbers at CB he may feel he can sell a couple of good ones to buy one great one

Still wouldn't get rid of Smalling
We relied on him more than any other last season. He is less injury prone than Jones and Bailly and currently better than lindelof and Rojo. Smalling definitely worthy of a squad place over Jones for example

There are others in the squad that should go before him. Doesn’t make any sense to sell your most reliable defender.

It makes sense in the sense that Jose obviously wants defenders to not hoof it from the back and Smalling and Rojo are by far the worst two at doing it

Toby is far better at finding people with the ball and even someone like Maguire is comfortable with the ball at his feet

I don’t think Smalling will leave as it’s just come out of nowhere but for any manager who wants a defender who doesn’t hoof the advantage to the opposition it makes sense for Smalling to be hoofed out of the side

He also wants solid, experienced, reliable defenders. Smalling ticks those boxes more than anyone in the squad.

I hate Smalling’s hoofing, but all our defenders do it as Mourinho is the coach. He tells them to do it.

Smalling will spend hours signing autographs and doing selfies outside OT for the kids and the groupies who stand near the car park on match days at the Stretford End. Lindlerof wont. He just walks past into the tunnel.

They are both just ok. Sell Linderlof

Rojo is just a left footed Argentinean version of Smalling, but worse.

I'd get rid of Rojo. Only got signed as LVG wanted a left footed CB.
