I was on a bit of a high after the signings of Bamford, Douglas and Harrison.
Really thought this was the start of giving it a 'proper' go.
Got up Wednesday morning to see a few articles stating we were in for Denayer and Woods.
Then Mr Hay stated that he believes we aint in for either player due to cost.
Now we have it confirmed that we are persuing Flooking PENNINGTON!
I am not that bothered about losing Vieira BUT ONLY IF all the money is used to bring in a quality centre mid which imo we are crying out for.
Never wanted a transfer not to happen as much as this Pennington one.
I go to every home game but my opinion of him from last season is he is dog turd.
Rant over.

If money that is invested into the club by the 49ers or from AR is actually spent on day-to-day expenses such as player wages, then it implies that the club continues to be a loss making money pit and we should be seriously concerned.

I think the last set of Cellino accounts demonstrated that player sales were required to generate a profit.
That position has clearly improved further still under AR with evidence that he himself has invested in a number of areas plus giving the club more liquidity.
The 49ers wasn't about raising cash, it's about a strategic partnership.
My point was, in terms of a transfer kitty, is that the allocated sum is not just for transfer fees. That doesn't mean the 49ers investment is going on existing wages, that'll have been already budgeted for.

Peak, point I’m making is about what the club actually says versus what the press say and therefore the fans think.
For example, when Bates was asked about TA he said its a priority. What does that mean exactly? But fans think it means he’s definiteky buying it back. When asked about the Delph Money for TAKING I think he says something like ‘it won’t hurt’ next thing fans think we have the 6 m it needs to but back TA etcetc
Look for what the club actually say. All AK says it stuff like it was go towards the squad, it’s really as open ended as can be.
As for what 49 era says, they’ve said aim is promotion, AR says top 6 so even between then they’re not consistent.

The bottom line is AR and co like Amazon are in it for the most money they can squeeze out of its customers and cunningly pocket for themselves. Like Bates and all the other incumbents at Elland Road with little investment you can comfortably ciphon/earn 5/6 million pounds for yourself each year. The accounts can disguise quite easily and legally administration fees and miscellaneous fees that in truth end up in the owners back pocket
Also agents are another rich source of income as deals are struck up in the old you scratch my back I'll scratch yours.
The depressing reality for Leeds is we are stuck in this situation with owners who are only willing to go so far and to risk the big buck transfers to get promotion would mean risking their comfortable guaranteed income each year
Only when the natives/customers get restless and vocally turn on the owners demanding better signings etc will they get uncomfortable and pass the baton/sell to someone else. We just have to hope we get lucky this season with what we got and somehow can achieve promotion and the riches of the premier league will sustain us with quality players and the owners will have plenty left over to appease/satisfy their financial appetite.

again none of us have any clue about war chests, budgets etc, the club keep that close to their chests, and rightly so.. so we can post links to support any argument we want but we're all still p1ssing in the wind I'm afraid.

I think the £10m from the 49’rs is indisputable! They clearly stated it would go towards the first team.
However the club have never staged that there is a £20m war chest. I defy anybody to find a direct quote stating that.
As for the newspaper story - it’s entitled “Rumour Mill”
Says it all!

Stated not staged!

Don't forget Bielsa's wages of rumoured 80k per week is 4million pounds and if we have to sack him and pay off his contract that's another 4 million so I suspect there isn't a lot left in the pot!

There are also as many rumours stating MB’s salary is just over £2m, so around £38k per week. I can’t believe we’re paying him £80k. Madness if we are!
