This story seems to be gathering a head of steam on various media outlets that he's on the brink of signing for City for £280,000 and then being loaned out to us for 2 years.

Interestingly, this site is reporting we'll have an option-to-buy mid-loan:

However it'll no doubt be for a much larger fee than City are getting him for...

This would suggest Johnston will probably end out on loan?

While I'm not overly against the signing of a winger who's played a wee bit more first team football and has international experience (v Johnston) - our priority still remains a CB of experience. Hoping we get one in soon!

I heard the boy hasn't grown as expect so is unlikely to have a future with us? Or is that mince.

Height and body shape is still a factor I would guess. You're not gonna have a 5ft 0 built like a fiver striker playing up against the likes of Berra.
