As we have seen large parts of Europe experience ridiculously high temperatures this summer (particularly in Portugal), this article came up on the BBC that claims scientists are expecting figures to rise over the next few decades even if countries stick to lower carbon emissions.
How angry are you with what the human race has done to this planet? We live in something so precious and valuable that we're hell bent on destroying it.

Feck it, do what you want, our time is limited. Soon enough most people will be existing, not living anyway.

Lets fight climate change so they can at least have a world to exist in.

What would be the point? Life is a struggle for far too many. Bring on the astroid imo.

What asteroid? Thought you said god created us, therefore no asteroids caused by a Big Bang would exist?!
You can do better stretty

Can you give me a few examples of these green taxes which you'd cut and give back to the people?

Every single god damn one.

We could start with the 12% on energy bills.

Really? You're talking about direct taxes mate, which is a slippery slope to start going down. The best they can do is to suspend the tax, together with VAT even for a determined period. You can't scrap that tax without replacing it somehow as the funds are funding crucial projects to help us transition away from the traditional sources of energy like oil/petrol many of which are halfway done and cannot be stalled.
In any case, oil isn't renewable. The money we spend on oil and gas in one month could maintain a wind farm in the ocean for 10 years. Energy prices have been on a generally upward scale for a long time, decades even. Prices go up and ten fall back down, but hardly ever as far down as they were before, and that will continue to be the case until we reach a breaking point or precipice of relying more on green energy than the traditional sources. At that point prices will start going down IMO and energy could be cheaper than you can imagine right now, No need to kick the can down the street.

Depends on your ability to critically examine situations and making the best decision. Taking away that tax isn't gonna save anyone tbh. It will just alleviate present suffering for a short while but saving people from suffering now and condemning them to prolonged suffering in future is a delicate balancing act.
Taking away these taxes could delay the transition by another decade or two, prolonging suffering by that much time and possibly taking us beyond the point of no return. Is that worth it?
We are suffering now and dependent on Russia and pandering to Saudi Arabia and the middle east for failing to initiate alternatives in the past. Idiots want us to keep doing that. It's insanity.
Your attitude towards this topic means that you don't know your arris from your elbow and I mean that in a nice way. You don't even know what you're talking about tbh and I can't explain things I've slowly learnt over many years to you on a JA thread.
Drop the dismissive attitude and start actually learning stuff.

Fortunately your elitist attitude isn't shared by most, thank god.
People are angry, as they should be, people won't just shut up and suffer. As they shouldn't.
