As my old mate Meatloaf used to say.
So as we finish our last pre season I want to briefly summarise the positives I currently see with Chelsea and also my concerns.
The two out of three refers to Kante and Jorginho. I am very excited about this midfield pairing. However there is a strong argument for signing a proven attacking goal scoring midfielder versus trusting Barkley/RLC to perform the role. It’s a tough call this one.
A big positive is seeing the back of that ungrateful kant Courtois. A very good keeper, but nowhere close to Cech in his prime. He also has zero leadership skills when it comes to organising the defenders in front of him. He won’t be missed.
Hazard and Willian staying is good news too.
But striker wise we are fecked unless Bats can fit into Sarri’s system. Morata is a gonna, it ain’t going to happen for him. I do think we are going to struggle with goals this season even playing Sarri Ball.
Lastly, I do worry about the lack of physical presence in our team. Over the last few seasons we have become quite lightweight in comparison to other teams and in the PL that concerns me.
But, here is hoping for an enjoyable season and I hope the club and fans allow Sarri time to work his magic. City gave Pep a season and unless Sarri does an AVB then he should be allowed the same time to put down the foundations for his system.

I don't mean to sound ungrateful but I don't want Kovacic, Especially not on a season long loan with no option to buy, He doesn't score goals. We have a midfield of Jorginho and Kante who will do the ball winning and ball retention, We need an attacking minded midfielder.
Disappointed we didn't sign a winger/inside forward.
Glad Courtois is off so we can move on, Genuinely hope he doesn't succeed at Madrid, For the way he has conducted himself not only these past 2 days but since he started pulling his pants down every transfer window for them.
Kepa is a good keeper with a high ceiling, Expensive but hey ho.. Ambition and all that.
