Anybody think we might still be trying to bring in another striker before the deadline? I read a rumour that Batshuayi might go for a season long loan to Valencia - which would leave us with just Morata and Giroud - neither of whom seem to score goals. It seems strange that we would leave ourselves with just 2 strikers, even if they were good ones - although nobody ever claimed our club was run with any kind of common sense. But still, what does everyone think about another signing before the deadline. It looks like Kepa and Kovacic will be coming in - but are we done?

Batshuayi deserves a chance, He will put chances away. Why persist with someone who not only spends more time on the ground moaning and doing his missus hair but he CANNOT finish!!!

Tammy will either secure a PL loan (never going back to Championship, backward step) or stays at Chelsea(my preference).

Vardy doesn't fit the age and price profile.

Can't see anymore signings happening unless Willian leaves, we'll probably get Fekir/Zaha in.
Sarri did say before we only need one player, a midfielder with different characteristics and we're getting Kovavic.
So, I'll be surprised if we do any more business after today

Bats should be given a chance now with Sarri working out how to get him good service. Desperately disappointed with Tammy - he's so static, and just doesn't have enough urgency or menace. Such a shame!

Nope we are getting rid of one because we have 4 strikers on our books anyway so one needs to go. Getting rid of one of Bats/Giroud also frees up space in our packed squad for non homegrown players. Having said that Fekir has history playing as CF

Right - I didn't really consider Abraham, but I suspect you could be right. We'll probably keep him as a 3rd striker (even if he is rubbish) just because he's homegrown.

Willy tells us who is mainly responsible for our lack of a striker. And before the usual suspects start giving the "he wanted to leave- traitor" mantra, we have seen enough nonsense from the media this summer to realise that the wanting to leave stories were media fabricated....
Our woes last term and toothless bite then and possibly now can now safely be attributed to Conte who imo lived up to his name.

Not sure I believe that Tway. Yes, Costa was a great striker (at times) and Conte helped to chase him out. But Costa was also a bit of a tw@t, and agitated for a move for some time - in the same way that Courtois did. If we failed to replace him properly, it is down to the transfer team and their last minute signings. Hopefully the last minute signing of Kepa to replace Courtois will turn out better. We can't blame Conte for everything.
In this case, I actually think Willian should have kept quiet. It was clear he didn't like Conte, and he held the moral high ground over the whole affair until he started talking to the press this week.

I take your point of view Blue J2. Personally I think Willy spoke up for his friend and countryman, nothing wrong with that. Supporting a mate. Its the first time any of us have heard it from an actual protagonist. Willy seems to suggest that Diego Costa might have been happy to stay on. ... and the talk about his wanting to leave was fabricated by the press similar to Hazard and even Kante this summer, which just did not happen. Yes Courtois made it clear he was a gonner, but I never saw any clip of Costa saying he wanted out. That was said only by third parties for story telling.
