That’s 32 players which is obviously far too many, but with plenty of time left to sort out the outgoings.
On paper I am very happy/excited with this group of players. I do worry where our goals will come from, but I’m also confident that Sarri will impose his style on this group given time.
It seems as though Bakayoko is on his way on loan to Milan, and I’d assume Drinkwater may go out on loan abroad. But I am really happy with the 6 midfielders we are left with. Some of the strongest competition for places in the middle for 10 years.
I’m very pleased with how this window has gone. And I’m confident in all 3 of our major signings (sorry Green). We’ve gone for quality over quantity, in the opposite to last summers window.
The aim has to be a comfortable 3rd place finish and a nice Europa League win. I’d be more than happy with that, as long as Sarri brings us some enjoyable football along the way.

If we were to get 3rd/4th I’d rather win another FA Cup than EL.
It will be tough, but Utd look like they’re in for a Jose meltdown and Arsenal have more ground to make up than us. Spurs could very easily come 3rd again and could equally get 5th/6th with zero signings.

Can’t see DW and Cahill going on loan abroad now, might be wrong though. Zouma, Bulka, Baka, Piazon and Girioud/Bats could them shipped out either on loan permanently abroad. There are a lot of players to clear, but we’ve got until 31st Aug to do so.
The squad is good enough to win the EL, even though it won’t be easy. A trophy and a place in the CL is not too shabby for the first season under Sarri.
Let’s hope Morata wakes up and turns up this season, otherwise we’re fecked.
