After all the reports saying theres no option to buy his post yesterday seems to say something else. "After three years filled with trophies I have decided to move on. Eventhough are paths now separate I want to say big thank you to @realmadrid family and all the fans for an amazing part of my life I will never forget. #HalaMadrid " seems like a pretty final goodbye to me. Maybe the club didn't mess up and managed to include an option to buy in the deal. Hope so because this could be great business

Yeah seems like he knows something we don't

Initially there were reports of an option to buy for 53mill. These reports mysteriously dried up.

Another theory could be that Kovacic ends up being part of a deal sending Hazard to RM next year. Seems a lot more plausible after reading the post from Kovacic

Reasonably sure Hazard will sign a new deal soon

Rumours are that Modric is signing another big money contract with Real, so the theory that Kovacic is supposed to replace him next season looks flawed if that happens.
I'll be interested to see where he's played in the system. We're guessing it'll be the AM role but he seems better suited to the deeper-lying positions, possibly as competition for Jorginho and Kante. His attacking output (1 goal / 6 assists) in 3 seasons at RM isn't exactly amazing. Though maybe he'll thrive in a more attacking role.

Could be but it would be weird if we'd committed him to RM this early. The only way we'd make good money on Hazard with 1 year left on his contract would be if we can start a bidding war among Barca, Real, PSG etc... Hopefully he'll just stay.

Definitely sounds like he's not going back to Madrid, so you'd have to assume that there's something in the deal allowing us to make it permanent. Can't imagine why we'd have accepted the loqn deal if there wasn't.
We're not exactly short of midfielders. If anything we're going to have a problem keep them all happy with the likes of RLC and Barkley wanting in on the action this season.
