I think people want Mourinho to fail

I want to start off by saying I have never seen such collective pressure on someone in football ever. When it comes to Mourinho, there's pressure from the media, there's pressure from the players, and worst of all, there's pressure from the fans. It seems to me like there's this story that people have already written in their heads. The fall of Jose Mourinho, the once great manager. The story goes that he was once the king of managers, the best in the world. He was then wounded at Real Madrid before being finished off at Chelsea. Now Manchester United is the final chapter, the end of his career as a world class manager. The problem with this story of course, is that the final chapter isn't over. Yet people have already written the ending in their head and everyone is willing for that ending they've created to happen. The media, the opposition fans, even the majority of Man Utd fans want that ending to happen. People talk about a bad atmosphere, Mourinho isn't the one creating it. That bad atmosphere is the collective will of everyone for the ending of their story to come true and for Mourinho to fail. I once quoted this line from batman in one of my articles. "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain." Everyone wants the story of the fall of Jose Mourinho to end the way they've dreamed it in their heads. He's become the villain of the story.

Now from day one, the Man Utd fans haven't been fair with Mourinho. And you can't argue with me on that. The attitude the second Mourinho was appointed was "We don't trust you - you have to win us over." This was not the way things should have been. Man Utd fans didn't get behind Mourinho from day one. They held back and said they would only get behind Mourinho if he proved himself first. So from the beginning Mourinho was put on the back foot and the atmosphere created at Manchester United wasn't the right one.

This attitude of the United fans didn't get better over time. There's always this negative spin put on everything Mourinho has achieved. An example of this is a comment I saw where a poster was complaining about the fact that Man Utd finished 19 points behind Man City last season. Now the problem with him saying that was that that he didn't mention, of course, that Man Utd finished 2nd in the league last season, comfortably their highest finish since Sir Alex retired. You can take anything and put a negative spin on it. But when every United fan does this exact same thing over and over again, people actually start believing the negative spin and it creates this illusion that things are worse than they actually are. Positivity and negativity are both contagious. If everyone takes this negative attitude, then everyone is going to start believing things are worse than they actually are. That's how human beings work.

The media, like I said, they have their story. Mourinho's not their hero any more, he's the villain now. Their new heroes are Klopp and Guardiola. They want nothing more than for Mourinho to fail and for their story to come to the ending they've wished for. But that's what the media do, they sell stories and this is the story they want to sell. What the Man Utd fans need to do is stop buying into the story and back their manager. We've also seen players put Mourinho under pressure, such as Martial and Pogba. Now tell me, do you really think these players are being selfless and are putting the manager under pressure for the good of the club, or some other cuddly bullshiiit like that? Mourinho has been trying to mould these two guys in particular into the type of player he wants. They're not happy because Mourinho has clearly tried to push them more than they're comfortable with. To see Man Utd fans supporting Pogba over his comments is hilarious. Pogba's world cup performances show that he's been literally mugging off the United fans. The discipline and focus in his performances for France is not something I saw from him last season at Man Utd.

And now, I see people are pre empting a 'third season meltdown'. So many people on here, both opposition fans and some Man Utd fans, are giddily 'predicting' and eagerly waiting for this to happen. It's exactly what I said in the first paragraph. People have written the ending to the story already and are willing for it to happen. That's why Mourinho is under pressure. it's not a third season meltdown. It's you putting him under pressure. You are part of the problem. I see Man Utd fans complaining about Mourinho's treatment of the players, well what about everyone else's treatment of Mourinho? He has pressure coming at him from all directions. From the media, from the players, from his own fans, even from the Man utd board. Do you think that doesn't affect a person? You're all so quick to defend people like Luke Shaw when you think he's under pressue, well why don't you defend Mourinho?

Instead of wishing for him to fail, why don't you wish for him to succeed?

I read it.

According to you it's ways someone else's fault

Despite slagging him off his players, the fans and the club

Such a thinly skinned egoist is always going to implode. It's Jose's way.
