09/10 Ballack Lamps Essien Deco Mikel
18/19 Kante Jorginho Cesc Barkley and Kovacic.
Most important part of the pitch and it feels so good to have a strong group in CM compared to what we've dealt with for the last ~8 years.
That said I'll always miss seeing Deco in a Chelsea shirt.
Best CM options since 09/10?

You forgot RLC!

Didier Deschamps and Desaille were stalwarts in that department, Frenchies continue supplying our MF.

I don't understand how this is even a comparison?
It's like comparing Uniteds 99 champions league team to Uniteds Europa league winning team..
Not even in the same league IMO

It's not a comparison though is it the title says best since so the comparison is with all other groups in between

Yes that's why I said the best options since.
Just because we've had better doesn't mean it's not great to have a massive improvement over recent years.

Deco is the one you miss from that group?

Well if I had to pick a player to have from those three at the age they were then it would be Frank>Ballack>Deco and clearly lamps is an all time great for us but there was just something special for me about watching Deco playing for Chelsea.

Ahh sorry, I'm blind
Certainly looking at it that way I'd say we've got a good range of options now for sure!

Yeah I agree that this is the best options that we’ve had in the middle for some time.
I get people saying Kovacic untried/untested etc, but trust me, I’ve watched a lot of him, and he is absolute class. It’s no shame that he hasn’t been able to nail down a place ahead of Modric/Kroos/Isco/Rakitic for club and country. He’s actually most similar to Modric out of all of those players. Close control and first touch is excellent.
Kante, Jorginho, Barkley, Kovacic, Fabregas, Loftus-Cheek. Very good options.

I noticed Fabregas wasn't even on the bench Saturday; was he injured or have we now got a manager who can see through him?

He was injured. Apparently played through it against city and made it worse. Don't think he'll be starting now, reckon he'll be behind Kovacic and even barkley. Can bring him on in the last 20 minutes where his lack of pace won't be so exposed.
