OK, I'm not sure how many of you enjoy these reviews, but I have just started playing a new game in VR and thought It was worth sharing (I think there is also a version playable without VR)
After playing it this morning, I was actually surprised by how much fun it was.
Why surprised? well graphically it is nothing special, the gameplay I saw looked pretty basic, and the remit kill or be killed, all added up to what I thought would be an average shooter.
But the fact it was getting such good reviews seemed to suggest it was a lot more than average, so in the recent sale, picked it up and gave it a whirl.
Move controllers are needed for this game, and using them presents you with two hands in the game, with those you can punch, pick up, throw, and obviously shoot.
What makes this game unusual, is the people attacking you only move when you do, the faster you move the faster they move, so obviously the slower you move the slower they move. What this does is give you time to plan.
One scenario, saw a guy bearing down on me with a knife in the opening screen, Now what to do? my initial thought was punch him, which failed, my second try I tried to lean back and counter his knife thrust, another fail.
I tried a few times sometimes I did manage to take him out, but it was very hit or miss, I needed a better plan. the better plan turned out to be a bottle I could pick up and smash over his head, First guy down two more to go.
Unfortunately these two had guns, but don't panic think. Do I grab the knife now flying through the air from my earlier assailant, I chose another bottle, throwing it at the guy closest to me, dodging his bullet in a way that would make Neo proud, unfortunately my throw was off and missed him, oh $hit, no more bottles, and I'm dodging bullets from both guys now.
Ignoring the knife on the floor I decided it was best to try and disarm the guy running towards me, dodging bullets till his gun came close enough to grab, turning it on him and his accomplice. Level completed.
Ok that's how I finally managed to complete it, lets just say it wasn't my first go, sometimes my bottle throw was spot on but my shooting sucked, sometimes my Neo skills were not up to the job, sometimes I fell backwards onto the sofa in panic (you play standing up) but it was fun and always had me wanting another try.
So to sum up, If you have PSVR and move controllers, this game is great fun and worth adding to your collection. This game works so well in VR, you really are in the action and makes for a great and unique experience.
Highly recommended

Didn't play it in VR but I spent a whole day playing it and yeah it's a lot of fun, a lot of the time it plays out as more of a puzzle game then an FPS, as you're figuring out where to move and when.
It's also not a frustrating game though, as whenever you do die you never feel like it's uncontrollable BS, it's always you making a mistake that you can learn from. It's rewardingly challenging, and when you complete a level you've been struggling with it's immensely satisfying

I can guarantee if you enjoyed it in normal play, VR takes it to a whole new level.
Actually having to move and see watch bullets as they pass by is very immersive.
If you get the chance play it in VR, You will love it.

Old thread, but Amiga if you tead this, thanks for the tips on vr. Loving it so far. Played a fair bit of wipeout in vr and it’s utter madness, few games of that and I feel like I’ve been on a rough sea in a canoe. It’s brilliant.
Batman next I think. London heist was quite good too, the road level in particular was good fun.
