Uefa Cup Final

being an Irish man I have to say it was a great sight, as a Liverpool fan i wish we had been there, the atmosphere would have been fantastic in Dublin and as we like to say in Ireland ,"mighty craic"!.

It also got me thinking about all this talk of it being a competition that isn't worth while . I do understand that Uefa have made a dogs dinner
of it by adding groups that only result in diluting the competition, but that beautiful,gleaming and historic cup deserves more respect then it's getting.

I like the fact that none of the Liverpool players or management have taken part in the knocking of the trophy, Liverpool are a trophy winning club and we should never take part in discrediting one that we are in or might possibly enter. If we had lifted it tonight we would all be out celebrating right now with smiles as wide as the Irish sea.

Spurs on the other hand have shocked me in their disregard of it. To think a club who have won only three trophy's in the last twenty years , two of which were league cups and the 3rd a FA Cup way back in 1991 , would treat the Uefa Cup with such contempt is ridicules.

Something tells me that both 'Arry and Spurs are getting a little bit too big for their britches, one season in the champions league and all of a sudden they are too good for this and that ! , all the while their trophy cabinet is gathering dust.
