Centre Back Pairing

So far it has been Rudiger and Luiz pretty much all pre season and the first two games. It's safe to say until the players get fitter and used to pressing for 90 minutes every single game that were going to be put under alot of pressure at the back. Can you see Cahill, ampadu or Christensen managing to establish themselves ?

For me Cahill is purely still around as back up and due to his character alot like we did with JT in his last season. Christiansen is probably in with a shout if given a chance as he's a talented player who I feel suffered as much as anyone last season. Probably a year too early for ampadu but I expect alot of game time in the cups and him to give a real go next season as sarri is clearly a fan

I've noticed "quarterback" entering our commentators dialogue in recent years

Italian....ergo...not required in our league, ditto the German thing

It's a one word term used to describe a specific type of player's unique movements in a particular position, the word is Italian because Pirlo popularized the role.

Tiki taka is a Spanish term that's an easier way to describe quick short passing that's been used by English announcers, pundits, fans, etc... for years. Regista's no different, we just haven't seen a great one in the PL yet hence it's not as well known in this country. Doesn't make it unnecessary.

I both look forward to, and fear Cahill’s appearance under Sarri. If he gets one. Playing that high up in defence gives him nose bleeds.

The cahill bashing on this site never ceases to amaze me Been our most consistent cb for 5 years. Still don't know if that's a good thing, but still.

I was advised it's in common use...so I'm confused now

Tiki taka I've heard a lot...not fussed about it either way

To tactics nerds like me yes, otherwise no (in England).

If Jorginho keeps going his thing and we succeed as a team because of it, it'll be a common term very soon

Mikel was the most prevalent example of an anti-Regista imaginable
