Rudiger/Luiz/Kepa

Very good performance from him yesterday, won everything against rondon who always seems to be a handful against us. Dominant in the air and you can really see him coming into his own in a back 4 with the number of duels he's winning now he's not plonked out wide. Not so sure we can say the same of Luiz but after so long out I think we've got to give him the benefit of the doubt and time to get back to his best. Hard to judge kepa at the minute as he's having long periods of time with nothing to do and being caught cold and conceding easily. Think he needs to switch on more so we can see the best of him.

Yeah don’t know how he can claim he was beaten easily. No keeper in the league would save that. Unless u feel drogbas header in the cl final was poor keeping also?

Rudiger is improving everytime I see him. Luiz, big worry.

As for hazard the angle and bodies in his way for that chance made it impossible to score. Cutting in was the right choice but it just fizzled out.

It's a weird one, both Mkhitaryan and Joselu goals were difficult to keep out but he can't a hand on both so should he have saved either of them? It's debatable.

I have a feeling Kepa will be good for us, Not great. I'm not expecting him to make a WOW saves that both Cech and Courtois made. He will fit the system and rarely have saves to make.

To make WOW saves*

Mkhis maybe, but sometimes a shot or header is just too powerful. Keeper got a hand to hazards pen for example. Plus he looks composed and I can see him getting better. Exciting times ahead

I think AC needs a run out as he has a good passing range at the same time he has Pace to get back in control if he loses a ball. The one thing Luiz still offers more than any in our team is fighting spirit, he keeps trying sometimes detrimentally to push the team forward

Really? I think luiz is probably our laziest outfield player. How do u define fighting spirit?

Kepa reminds me off De Gea when he first joined Utd, Not the tallest of keepers and very lean. I think he does need to fill out a little.

He's here for the long haul tho, He's tied down until he's 30.

Here's hoping Christensen gets a run out against Bournemouth.

so according to your idea then Kante is our go to player for fighting spirit. Luiz gives the team personality he gees players up in the changing room and is very active within the club itsself, he helps the new players settle in.

So nothing to do with fighting spirit then?
There was been more occasions of luiz switching off and putting lack of energy in than I care to remember.

He might a nice guy and a leader in the changing room, but fighting spirit? Depends what u mean. Everything you listed is not an example of fighting spirit

I read some comments recently from Sarri about his system and way of playing - and he suggested that it would be hardest for the defenders to adapt. He particularly suggested that the older defenders, who are used to following the man as opposed to following the ball which is what his system demands, would find the changes most difficult to adapt to. Not to make any excuses for Luiz, but perhaps some of his errors may be down to him coming to grips with the new system. Sarri suggested that the players were smart, and he was hopeful that they would be able to adapt within 2 months.
