I know everyone was of varying degrees of optimism and belief in the new boss.
Now we are at the international break, was wondering what everyone has been impressed by (can be specific scenarios or just a broader plus point) and what may have disappointed you etc.
for me
1) I liked the early sub in the swansea game, we were struggling and didnt ever get properly up and running but phillips was struggling and he came back against norwich with a great performance (obviously good man management during that whole scenario)
2) annoyed me that it seems to of been his decision not to get another centre back in
Opinions on Bielsa

aahh.... I hit send before checking .... he COULD have played under Bielsa .... that's what I meant to say

What you on about Wakey, Bamford played 47 times last year for Middlesbrough scoring 12 goals though out of position.
Bartley has had one good season, that was with us, prior to that he was a journeyman, last year he was injured a lot but there's very little evidence that he's better than what we have, Bera included.
The guys from WBA are confirming that in their view he hasn't been good enough to date.
I think if he hadn't had the good season with us, WBA wouldn't have touched him with a barge pole.
Probably could have played under Bielsa, him and Ayling clearly have a good rapport and that helps but we need to sign players who are going to take us up and then have take us forward.
If Swansea didn't think he was good enough to get them out of this league and our goal was to finish above them, why the hell would he be good enough for us.
A bullet dodged.

I wasn't in favour of Bartley coming back. Injury-related issues plus, as stated above, he didn't get an automatic place in a team heading in the wrong direction.
Plus, Swansea City didn't appear to want to keep him either!!
He's a good player. I suspect Bielsa would have played him had he been here but he was in no rush to add a new CB to the current squad.

I would be delighted to get the Christmas without having a CB crisis and the lack of a back up costing us points.
We cannot fault Berra at all, (lucky against Boro not to give away a pen), playing out of position he has been immense (bar the odd mind-freeze)

Your missing the point.
Bamford struggled most of last season, does that make him a bad player ???

Pretty sure that's not what you said.
The guys from WBA are saying that Bartley isn't as good as they expected and not worth what they paid. They were sold a pup.
I said, and have said for some time we were never in for Bartley. They would have looked at him sure but I reckon they are shrewder than we have given them credit for. We need to improve on what we have and other than a good season with us, Bartley has shown no evidence that he is anything other than a journeyman CB.
Not sure where the Bamford analogy comes from. At this point however if you were to ask whether Bamford represents value for money I'd say no.
Both Bamford and Bartley have time to turn that around, it's a long season.

Bartley was excellent for us and would have fit into this team easy.
Maybe it just suited him at Leeds. Not seen him play this season.

Bartley was better on the ball than our current centrebacks. Could play a great pass over the top too.
Could be that he just hit a purple patch at Leeds because he's not really done it much elsewhere.

I wouldn't have wanted Bartley back after he turned us down last season.
Don't need players who don't really want to be here.

Bartley looked good in the one WBA game I saw this season.
