I completely disagree with gongs for people just doing their job. Men and women that give lots more than they take out deserve recognition more than the Chair of a football club. No disrespect to Daniel but he's overseen the building of a stadium that is hundreds of millions over budget and unfinished. Big deal.
And let's be blunt, the only reason the powers that be started handing gongs out to footy managers and the like was so they could continue to shower them on civil servants and the like without being accused of cronyism or buying influence. Grrrrr
