Luton played Portsmouth, Sunderland and Peterborough in their first few games and so it was a tough start. They have since begun to win and now stand just below us in the table.
They strike me as being a side that play similar aggressive-style football to Rovers. So they will be a handful and we shall have to be quickly out of the blocks.
I shall optimistically hope for a 2-0 result with Wilks the first scorer. 7500 there.
DPL vs Luton Town

Apparently Kane had had a knock and it did affect him.
He also got clattered a couple of times which may have aggravated whatever his problem was.
He wasn’t at the level that we have seen in previous matches but there were a couple of quick interchanges of passes with Copps that were a joy to watch.
As for Wilks, he was very close to scoring with a fine left footed attempt in the second half which almost found the top corner.
I thought his work rate was much better than in previous games too, maybe the JM work ethic is rubbing off on him.

I have not watched the whole game, but was apparent that the opposition did enough to draw or even win and we could not really have complained if that had been the result. Credit to the defence and in which Marosi seems outstandingly comfortable.
Shrewsbury's draw at Portsmouth marks them as a useful force and I think Luton too will be strong too.
We might ask whether Sunderland's near defeat at home to Fleetwood and the recent set-backs of Portsmouth and Peterborough against us and Posh only narrowly beating Southend show that they are not that much better than the chasing group.
It is also interesting to note Walsall's start because both they and Fleetwood were most pundits' tips for relegation.
We are left with Barnsley who had their 2 early 4-0s, but have not exactly cruised to victory in their recent matches.
So what I am speculating is that perhaps no side is going to run away with this league this time; almost all have had ups and downs.
Whilst it is difficult to know exactly where we fit into all this, what is good is that we have conceded only 5 goals with only 2 better with 4 let in. Promotion is built on good defence and clearly in holding out under considerable pressure on Saturday we showed just that .
In ending, I cannot believe the transformation of Mason, the difference seemingly that under DF he was a holding player, but now he is a positive dynamo.
Talking of attacking full backs I see James Husband is now on loan (from Norwich) at Fleetwood and earned them a penalty vs Sunderland on Saturday which was missed!
I'll do the DPL results soon.

I do hope so Hound, he could be a great player if someone can coach him properly, be good to score a 25yrd right foot volley on Saturday
It does say a lot about Kane when they are targeting him at such a young age, I do hope he learns from this experience with us that it's a complement when they try to kick you off the park, as they see you as the main man to stop.

Despite the weather when the winning goal was scored, the result did indeed bring sunshine to Nookie who remains ahead closely followed by Saturday's top scorer Mooligan, who, with many of you forecast the score.
