In defence of the worlds best left back

"C$shley has no class, prolly smacks around his wife, cheats w/anything on 2 legs, used to be tops in his position, he's past it and a pathetic man, now resorting to desperate tackling"
=============================================
All this from someone who has never met the guy, yet the comontators who know him personally, said yesterday that off the field he is , a "very nice bloke".

The "tackle" wasn't a tackle, it was desperation, a deffender trying to block an attempt at goal when already down and beaten, it was poor but thats it, no more. The incident happened at 100mph for heavens sake, at full lick on any football pitch 99% of defensive issues are reactive, not proactive.

Having said that, I do agree with the principle that if you book someone, it is a free kick, and a free kick in the box is a penalty

But please try to keep this in mind, SKY show these controversial incidents over and over again, in slower and slower motion for one reason, to get the world talking about the incident, that was an attempted block of a shot on target, it was a poor one, but it is worsened by the constant slow-mo replaying.

Sky have a history of doing this, they turn up the microphones when a player is saying or shouting something contentious (Rooney against West Ham, Drogba in the CL against Barca), they then appologise profusely for the foul language and for offending our ickle children, when they could have eradicated it at source and prevented it's airing altogether.

They drool over something which is bound to be picked up on the following day in the Stun, anyone here see the connection.

Totally agree mate. The media love a good story and so do Sky hence why they were so keen to question anybody they could get about the Cole incident

It happens on a football field. It was a mistimed tackle. Cole got it wrong. He didnt think before the tackle " Let me muller this mexican twonk" It was an attempt to block the ball. That's all. Turns out his shot was off key and the ball went somewhere else rather than going towards the goal.

If this was a Scholes tackle. Im pretty sure the United faithful would be greeting it with a "classic scholes "
