Salah, Lukaku, De bruyne, Bonnuci to name a few. Would you really blame the likes of Martial, Shaw, Rashford & Pogba if they demanded to leave? The guy has a poor record when it comes to grooming youngsters. He sold Bonnuci to Bari as a youngster, failed to groom De Bruyne & Lukaku. Didn't give Mo Salah enough game time. Are you noticing a pattern here?

Rosso is at it talking absolute nonsense again. Out of those 42 games Martial played, how many minutes did he play?

Andy Cole scored 229 goals in his career.... he was an awful finisher.
-------------
He wasn't an awful finisher, more an average one. But I take your point - he'd need 5 chances to score a goal. The thing is, he worked so hard and had a knack of finding space, that he got more chances that most strikers so delivered good figures. Walcott at 12 years old will have been absolutely skinning his peers. He'll have had chance after chance. Especially playing for a local amateur youth team in a small market town.

229 goals and awful finisher. I hope we have one of those today

are you seriously suggesting that if cole could finish say even 1 in 3 chances that he would have close to 400 goals in his career?
---------------
What is so crazy about that? He player 545 games in his career. I am pretty confident that he will have averaged more than 2 shots per game. That is being conservative. So that is at least 1,090 shots over the course of his career, divided by 3 = 363 career goals.

what's crazy is assuming each chance a striker gets has the same difficulty level as all the others, the problem with cole was with a so called easy chance he was more likely to mess up on and by easy chance I mean 1on1 with the keeper, half chances and instinctive finishes he was brilliant, also why are you defining a shot as a chance? if that's the case Ronaldo is probably a 1in 10 striker

Of course all chances aren't the same. You get easy ones and tough ones. But over the course of their career all strikers will get a mix of both. A shot on goal tends to be how we define a chance, because as far as I am aware, there is no record of chances lost through miscontrol, overrunning, completely missing the ball. Its the same for all strikers, not just Cole.
