Great team performance yesterday, poor refereeing one though. Fair play to united though. Firstly, Torres plays a whole lot better with a player just behind him ala Gerrard at pool and Mata yesterday. Secondly, It is important to note that united played without a specified defensive midfielder giving us space between their midfield and defense lines to exploit using a 4-2-3-1. This will not be the case with many other teams we face this season so for those thinking a permanent change from 4-3-3 is for the best, think again. What I think is of more importance is that the team can switch formation with ease at any point in the game to one that puts the opponent immediately on the back foot. I think Andre has shown he is the best man for this job. He's tactically astute and excellent with substitutions and tactical changes in games. This is one of the things that bugged me about Carlo. He was too stubborn to change or experiment new things and in the end it cost him his job. Ask yourself if Carlo would ever have brought off Lampard, 3-0 down at Old Trafford. I think by january, this team might even be able to accomodate Drogba and Torres upfront and still be very successful. This is down to the faith I've got in this coaching staff.

If yesterday showed us anything it´s that Lampard should no longer be starting and that we need a viable alternative to the 4-3-3.

Been saying this a while and if you see how he was coming on with 20minutes left midweek he looked more like the Lampard of old lots of running and tracking and gave far more, when he plays from the start you can see him reserve himself for the whole game
