Week 6

Leicester v Everton
Leicester dominated early possession and made it count as Hazard scored a cracker from the edge after nice work down the lfet from Wendell and Coutinho to set him up, Everton just couldn't get into their stride. But for Buffon this could have been done and dusted early. Everton started better in the second half but for all pressure they put on the home side they couldn't find the break through, unfortunately for them the home side did, Hazard setting up Ronaldo and he put the second away nicely, Everton pushed for a goal but it just didn't come for them this week

Leicester 2 - 0 Everton

MOTM - Hazard

Birmingham v Bournemouth
Two good sides together today but this was a struggle for both, neither dominated in lengthy spells and opportunities were few and far between, those that did arrive were wasted or saved well, the best chance for both was a Higuain header from a corner which went over and a Paqueta free kick which was saved well. drama in the second half tho as Gomez, already on a yellow, was brought down in the box, looked a penalty, but on replays Skriniar never touched him, the ref quite rightly gave the striker a second yellow and resulting Red, much to his and his team mates protests, Brum dominated after this but being down to ten forced Bournemouth into defensive mode, they did this well and managed to see out the game for a good point

Birmingham 0 - 0 Bournemouth
Gomez(Bournemouth)
MOTM - VerĂssimo

Arsenal v Tottenham
A high quality game, well attacking wise it was as 6 goals are shared at The Emirates, some poor defending, quality finishing made this very exciting. Arsenal first up, Goretzka robbing Verratti and playing in Cavani to round Courtois 1-0, Spurs responded quickly though Aguero as he slammed home from a pass from Modric, an Eriksen free kick put the visitors ahead at half time, second half was just as frantic as Arsenal went ahead with two quick fire goals from Malcom and Cavani. Bad tackles, made this turn into quite a feisty affair and some yellows were dished out, the Ref was being quite lenient, on any other day this game would definitely not finish with 22 on the field. As the game went on Spurs went even more attacking with Bailey arriving on the pitch and hispace late on made sure Spurs went home with a point as he tore down the right, he drilled it low and hard into the box and Aguero nipped in ahead of Sane for the equaliser

Arsenal 3 - 3 Spurs

Cavani(Goretzka, 6, Malcom, 52), Malcom(Goretzka, 54)
Aguero(Modric, 10), Eriksen(FK, 40), Aguero(Bailey, 82)
MOTM - Goretzka

Wolves v Portsmouth
Wolves made this difficult for Portsmouth, they dug in well and didn't give the flair players much time on the ball, they pushed them hard but on the other side couldn't get the ball off them as Portsmouth played keep ball, it didn't come to much as the hard work the home side was doing them well. 0-0 at the break, Portsmouth again came out attacking but Wolves were very resilient and it stayed 0-0 until very late on as subs were made the away side eventually made the break through, Mahrez and Mertens linking well, they got in beyond the defence and scored a simple goal much to the heartbreak of the home side

Wolves 0 - 1 Portsmouth
Mertens(Mahrez, 83)
MOTM - J.Tah

Man City v Newcastle
The gods are certainly against Newcastle atm as they struggled to find any form today, especially in the first half as they found themselves 2 down at the break, a Richarlison free kick which left Alisson stranded and a header from Zagadou from a Zielinski corner put City in dreamland, Newcastle just weren't at it and were lucky not to be 3 down but for a great save from Alisson from a Fekir effort. Ludy must have given them the hairdryer treatment at half time as out came a completely different Newcastle, they drove forward in numbers, there link up play was tremendous but for all that effort they couldn't get back into the game, Radja powered into midfield and Firmino came on for the misfiring Suarez and it made a difference, but too little too late. They did score through Firmino and pushed on more when Lukaku came on but in the end it just wasn't their day as City held on for a great 3 points

Man City 2 - 1 Newcastle
Richarlison (FK, 30) Zagadou(Zielinski, 44)
Firmino(Mane, 77)
MOTM - Zagadou

Hull City v Aston Villa

Chelsea 2 Liverpool 2
Mbappe 3 (Neymar) ----- Lozano 25
Varane 56 (Pjanic) ---- Sancho 74 (Kane)

MOTM - Kane - while not on the scoresheet, his link up play and overall good hold up play helped earn his side a share of the points.

A very exciting top of the table clash and it lived up to the hype. Chelsea started off with a bang when Neymar got to the byline and whipped in a low cross for Mbappe to drift in and tap home from the right wing. This didn't phase Liverpool and with them focusing more on the central areas they got an equaliser when Lozano reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box to get a goal. Things were level going in to the break with both teams content with the current score. Neymar won his side a corner on 55 minutes after trying to take on Weiser, who defended brilliantly against the Brazilian on the night. But from the resulting corner kick Varane leaped higher than his fellow Frenchman Upamecano and buried a header into the top corner with Ter Stegen rooted to the spot. This rattled Liverpool and Chelsea had chances to get the third goal but Pool defended diligently and they started to get a foothold in the centre of the pitch with Keita making some good attacking runs from the middle with Dybala looking to find him at every opportunity with some good passes. Sancho was brought on and made an immediate impact as he was being given the freedom to attack Fabinho, who struggled with the hungry youngster. He played a pass to Kane, who did very good and held the ball up while Sancho made an infield run and played him through to slot home the equaliser.

Hull City 2 - 0 Aston Villa
