Did anyone see 19 year-old Alex McKinnon playing for St George tonight? Born in Aberdeen, he scored 2 tries on debut in the St George loss to the Gold Coast.
Unfortunately, for Cheese, he was born in Aberdeen, NSW, Australia.
A Scots star is born?

G'day Ducky....Re; Alex McKinnon, what was the story behind his name being either David or Alex at birth with his mum being OZ and dad an English chap.....I missed what was behind it all.....

No Syd that was David Gower. English dad, OZ mum wanted him called Neil after Neil Harvey and dad wanted David, after some Pommie. He's been around for a few years and rarely played NRL so I don't think he'll be playing for England.

But Queso, wonj't it look odd that his Aberdeen birth certificate was issued by the NSW Govt?
Or is it a case of "If they're good enough, they're Scottish enough?"
