... and supportive of Puel I have to firstly say that I don’t think he is purposely trying to turn us into a slow, disfunctional team. There have been some extreme views suggesting he is proactively trying to turn our game into this style and I don’t for second think he is actively looking to make us regress
Like any manager, I am positive that his ethos has good intentions and he sees as being the way forward for us.
I also, positively speaking, think we are/Puel is within touching distance of things being better and actually being able to build on what was successful previously.
Now, I’m not sure that this is within touching distance because Puel has moved us towards that and do have some worries that not only can he not see this possibility to progress but will plough on and steer us further away from it (either by watering down the impact/or muscle-memory so-to-speak of what we already know works, or alternatively through key players moving on). But and it still a big and optimistic BUT, although we are so far away in many ways from what we feel is progress in some ways...as mentioned, just some minor changes could make the world of difference.
Full backs being full backs, the attacking midfielders playing further back and being the main providers of width and space for Maddison and Vardy. Not drastic changes to this formation and ones that have already worked for us and can compliment retention of the ball/turning over of attacks which are obviously part of Puel’s plan.
Even better, key players have come in to build on those areas of weakness we had! Maddison providing a more creative Okazaki role behind Vardy, a younger ball playing CB and two defensive midfielders to break up play and get he ball back. And even better - this isn’t signings to still bring into the team, they are already playing these roles and on the whole, playing them well, just in a formation not suited to other players or optimum tactics. And Even more good news, this doesn’t involve ripping up a new plan and reverting back to what we had before, these new players were the exact sort of signings we wanted in order to evolve and build on our existing style.
Actually, it would just take some reflection and minor tweaks from Puel to make an absolute world of difference.
I know, I know, but he probably won’t make those changes, but we are so close in many ways IMO and whilst that may make it more frustrating, we could be in a much worse position.
Chin up everyone.
In the interests of being positive....

Solid points KTF1. If Puel just adapts slightly as you suggest, I also think we could have a lot of joy.
When he came and enabled us to mix it up between possession and quick counter, he was hugely successful. I’d love to see him do that again.
With the players at his disposal, it would be quite easy to switch formation and tactics mid game. I just wish he’d try it once in a while!

Looks like no one is interested in positivity KTF!

We are playing better this Season in the Puel way than we did last season in the Puel way, that’s positive.
If he could combine the two styles, which I hope and assume is the intention, we will be a force to reckon with, maybe even top half pushing for Europe.
At the moment as someone said, it’s tick-tock, 2 wins in 5 isn’t Europe places Football which we all know is then Owners target.
