He looked really direct and very good when he came on and Gerrard said after the game that he was very near a starting slot

the best player from last night is a hard one mate ( it was a hard watch ) haha but defo the most surprising performance has to be Halliday best game in a blue shirt for a couple of years

In only a short 10 min cameo I thought Dorrans looked fit and sharp for his first game in a year I think they said on the tv

Arfield should have put the laces through a shot in the 91st min and we could have stolen it

Not the best mate but all adds to the confidence the team needs and a point on the board

Happy with a point in the toughest fixture in our group which will hopefully inject some belief we can threaten in this group It was though a disappointing first half performance and a good second half performance with clinical finishing.

Tinged with a bit of regret that Arfield couldn't complete the robbery. Would have been up there in terms of undeserved 3 points with the Hibs game last season with Windass nicking it after getting battered.

First half the reality is we had no energy or quality in midfield, the defence were ropey. A bit of a strange decision to drop Katic for Worrall who actually did okay but the defence were less organised that usual. Barasic defending was poor for their second but he then produced a excellent delivery for our equaliser so i'll let him off. Tav was decent and got some success driving us forward. McGregor top class again.

Midfield struggled badly, Coulibaly did not look fit. Halliday and Arfield gave the ball away countless times in the first half. Credit to Arfield for the finish though, it was superb.

Dorrans added a nice bit of craft creating what should have been the winner, excited to see him play in the advanced position that suits him.

Candeias had a shocker then created the goal Kent done well enough and Lafferty i thought worked his socks off and the finish was pure class.

MOTM though was Middleton, came on and changed the flow of the game and created the equaliser with Barasic. He's really pushing for a start now and i'm getting very excited about him too.

Can we qualify?

confusing thread this? seems that the OP tries to make a point about Villareal being a good team, yet the fellow fans thought they rode their luck... which they did..

good result for both teams last night, rangers with the better performance as they were away from home...good for the co-efficient points tally tho...about time and all!

thought Villareal were as poor as I have ever seen them to be honest...I thought Celtic were also very poor.


however, points make prizes so well done to all.

Saw the first half then switched back on when Lafferty equalised. I thought you were on for a horsing when Bacca scored in the first minute but you pulled yourself together to create a bit of a boring first half.

Fantastic last few minutes though with Arfield's big chance then the Spaniards getting two great chances. Can imagine hearts were in the mouths

Great (and unexpected) result for you guys.

I think if the game had to go into extra time we could’ve nicked it. The last ten mins were a real battle, and if we can get that mentality from the start we’ll be capable of getting a few results.
