WADA

Not (as yet?) strictly speaking a football related issue, but the World Anti Doping Agency has welcomed the Russians back into the fold of international sport, despite the state-sponsored illegal, cheating drug-enhancing battlefield-grade gear pumped into their sports people in the name of honesty.

So, I think that means that, despite the world-wide condemnation, both from athletes and states, the Russians are back in, and they'll never cheat at state level or any other level, ever ever again. Honest.

I'm not suggesting for a nano-second that they are alone in cheating, but they're the biggest hit in town since the East Germans were at it.

The outcome?

If or when there's a sporting event, any athletic event, initially with the Russians in it, can the date time place TV channel be published.

That way I can avoid it like the plague.

It will be pointless to watch, and that's a shame. I can easily envisage viewer figures plummet in the meantime.

If it happened with our club or any Club in the U.K. That would be terrible. I hope I haven't given the Russian hackers a new target.

You don’t think the 3 year ban was sufficient punishment? If not what duration of a ban will suffice in your opinion?

If someone/entity commits crime/grievous act, is it not the norm for punishment to be served and followed by their reformation?

Otherwise what will be the point of having said structure in place if what people who are upset about it want is an indefinite suspension with conditions that can be easily manipulated in order to keep the offender indefinitely suspended.

This actually highlights the lack of proper regulation in WADA. There are specific punishments prescribed for specific offenses, so how come this offense which has been depicted as something so abhorrent doesn’t have a prescribed course of action for the offender?

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Linford Christie's lunchbox was actually a large IV syringe pumping a constant stream of steriods into him.

Can't fault your response, Kuki. However, I think that the punishment should fit the crime. Here, as in the case I suspect with the GDR, the drug abuse was state sponsored. So in the circumstances, a state as big as Russia is, should also be at or near the top of the tree as regards to morality.

It is currently rock bottom.
