So the Terrors move up to third in the league after a comfortable and deserved win against hapless Falkirk who remain rooted to the bottom of the table without a point to their name.
It was obviously a relatively straightforward fixture (as straightforward as you can get in this league) and I'm pleased to see we came through it. I thought it was the right decision not to risk Fyvie on the surface and it was good to see another couple of changes, particularly the removal of Barton who has been terrible lately.
It was also very pleasing to see both forwards on the scoresheet which is always a big positive in my book. Both scored headers from deliveries from our wide players and again that's pleasing and a sign of things to come.
It does keep Csaba in a job for another couple of weeks at least but we are about to embark on a tough fixture run:
29/9 Ross County (h)
6/10 Ayr (a)
13/10 Partick (a)
20/10 Inverness (h)
Those are four very hard games. County started well but have dropped to fourth after the draw in El Kessicko (level on points with us), Ayr are flying and have surprised everyone to surge to the top of the league, Plastic Whistle got a good result at the weekend and Inverness were knocked off the top this weekend after the aforementioned draw.
It feels like this run of games are make or break for our season. We need to put down a marker for our title credentials or it's time up for the manager.

Kessock not Kessick.

Ayr are having a terrific campaign so far. Shanklands is banging them in and they're playing with a real zip at the moment. Could be a potential (although unlikely) banana skin.

Goals from the game if interested. Two shambolic pieces of defending from Falkirk to be fair.

Falkirk's start is eerily similar to their start last season with a similarly useless manager. (Can't remember who exactly, other than Falkirk fans thought he was awful, played terrible football and filled the squad with an unsettling number of central midfielders whilst not addressing the issues with the defence).
Last season it was 3 points from 3 draws after 7 games before their idiot manager was sacked, with only 5 goals and 14 conceded. This year it's 0 points after 6 games, scoring 3 and conceding 10.
They actually went the first half of the season having only seen their team win once. My god that must have been depressing.
Anyway, United won. Hooray. Thanks Falkirk goalkeeper for helping us avoid the most embarrassing result of the season.
