Barca lost tonight and RM are 3-0 down. Clearly a night when all the top quality teams lose....

Yep,you are right, was very close but Barkley was offside,Morata blocked my view of him but he headed ball so should have been chalked off

Isn’t that the idea of VAR though, to ensure the close calls are given? A complete waste of time if they don’t use it properly.

No - it was introduced to make sure clear and obvious errors were not made.

That was neither clear nor obvious!

Hands and arms aren't considered in offside decisions

Only parts of the body that can legally touch the ball count.

I can understand why clear and obvious errors can be deemed with foul play or handball etc as they are at the discretion of the referee however offside either is or isn’t, a player that is incorrectly ruled onside is a clear and obvious decision. Due to the nature of the call being black or white.

Well I couldn't tell if Barkley was offside of not, and he was the only one in the equation having touched it.

The VAR decision took that long to confirm the goal, it suggests they couldn't tell either. Therefore, they either couldn't tell or their technology said it wasnt.

It’s an easy mistake to make. The officials unfortunately did not have the best camera angle however it could sill be seen from the angle that they showed. You can see his foot in between Morata’s legs.

Anyway me moaning isn’t going to change the decision. Was an entertaining game and a great warm-up for Saturday! It’s shaping up to be a good one, so fully expecting a 0-0 dull affair
