Team Orders at Mercedes

Morning all, been a while since I wrote an article here. I was surprised at all the faux outrage at the team orders issued by Mercedes. Even more amusing was the reaction of Ferrari fans to the Team Orders. Some appear to have a severe case of amnesia.

Anyway, the team have got a bit of a buffer now but I expect Hamilton to keep pushing. He has become almost "Terminator" like come the business end of the season.

Japan up next with reportedly dodgy weather about, so fingers crossed it is a good race.

I don’t see any issues with their team orders, Hamilton is fighting for the championship, Bottas is not, better to gain 10 points than 7. Earlier in the season if they did this then yeah I’d understand Bottas frustration, but now it’s a no brainier.

What I do find interesting lately is how much performance Ferrari have lost, I’m guessing they had something illegal in their car, FIA quietly told them to remove it and since then, they’re not as quick as they were. Either that or Mercs new updates have pushed them back to being the quickest.

It was a no brainer. Not sure why people were whining

What it does do however is put any confirmation on the myth that Mercedes dont have no1 and no2 driver and that they dont do team orders. Let that put it too rest, there isnt a team out there that right now doesnt have a no1 and no2 driver.

It makes sense, Hamilton gets preferential treatment just like Vettel, just like Verstappen. Mercedes were not gutted last week at giving out team orders, they were just gutted it was made so obvious and it played out infront of the fans. Behind closed doors Toto would have been chuffed to bits last week

Nonesense!

The 2 Merc drivers had equal treatment up until the point one is clearly further on in the WDC.

Vettel and Alonso, in previous seasons have had number 1 status regardless

Nonesense he is the number 1 driver and rightly so he has earned it until Bottas shows he is up to Hamiltons level he will always be the no2 driver. He might not have it written into his contract like Alonso and Vettel but he Mercs no1 driver. Why dont the get paid equal then since Merc seen them as equal when the deals where thrashed out. Cos he is their preferred driver no ifs no buts just facts.

They do not get the same wages because one of them is a 4 time world champion and the other is not.

They are given equal machinery and equal opportunities to win races.

Bottas has been unlucky this year.

you got proof of this? You cant provide proof that Hamilton doesnt get equal machinery, updates come at different times, both dont always come at the same time. So can you prove that when that happens Hamilton doesnt get preferencial treatment, cmon you aint that niave. You know fine well.

Plus the clear and obvious team orders that have been given.

Hamilton is no1 and so he should be he is the better driver and more worth to mercedes, he does and should get preferential treatment.

Bottas has been told plenty of times not to attack Lewis, PLENTY. Lewis has never been told to hang fire and not attack Bottas.

Oranges - hamilton, this season, is now number 1 driver. A FORCED hand from Merc as Bottas isnt in the reckoning for the WDC.

The point is, that before this they have had equal treatment, been free to race and looks like they have had equal machinery.

None of us have hard facts to support the equal machinery part, but the evidence around Bottas' impressive qualifying and race pace, suggests yes they have. Its more down to some terrible luck for Bottas that he isn't closer to Hamilton.

don't have a issue with team orders, Mercedes have a job to do but what I do have a issue with is the betting on f1, should be stopped whilst team orders are in operation
