It just feels like football is at a weird stage in the year 2018.
The style and tactics that are being used have been improved. But at the same time it is clear there aren't as many top, elite players that were around 10-15 years ago. both in quantity and quality.
Let us look at the Premier league for example 10 years ago for one.
You had a good, young Arsenal team, probably the most talented Liverpool, the greatest United side ever, and a beastly Chelsea team all vying for trophies.
All those sides are superior to the the top teams in the Prem now (bar maybe City).
Even when you compare the quality of players then and now.
Hazard, for example, would have no business being the best in the Prem then, while now he remains unchallenged.
This goes for football in general. There just seems like a lack of talent around plying their trade in the top leagues while few years back there was a fair share to pick from.

I think had we not had the 10th place finish he’d stay. Would mean we’d only missed the cl once.
But it’ll be tough to keep him unless we sign a top striker in jan.
