From arm chair pundits to the "rarefied heights" of the British media we see it utilised to justify anything from a new signing to decrying the loss of form in a seasoned professional or those retuning perhaps returning from injury.
Just how fast is it though and what is it measured against? Or is it just a lazy journalistic cliche?

It's measured by looking at how quick Torres was at Liverpool before Benitez ruined him and looking at how quick he is at the moment

Pato's acceleration for his goal vs. Barce is a good example of very good acceleration. Not quite 5 yards but yuo get what it is
