I didn't know Vichai had gone to watch him and our other Nigerian internationals at the World Cup.

The other occupants of the helicopter have been named as well:

At least one thing is that it looks like there was nobody underneath it when it landed.

Isabella lechowicz was one of the pilots not just a passenger it should be said.

Can’t imagine how this will affect Leicester’s season now. Gonna be really hard for everyone involved to go out into the stadium.

So sad. Seemed like a truly wonderful owner who cared about the clubs fans with the various days the club put on for the fans.

Just to add to my earlier condolences, that pilot is an absolute hero for making sure he diverted it away from anywhere where fans or homes were also.

They will “regroup” as it is often said, pushing the trauma aside for the time being with chins up, getting out there on the pitch and playing with the owner’s name held high I should imagine.

Terrible terrible news, as someone whose been at a club who had a takeover by a passionate chairman who has a genuine bond with the club, I feel for the leicester fans, his family and everyone involved. Seemed like a top guy.

I personally still can’t find the words, but the tributes and condolences from others are overwhelming and helping me process this in my own mind too.

Thanks to all other fans who have stood with us during this very upsetting time.

It will hurt for a while, but over time Vichai will be remembered for the man who wrote the greatest underdog story ever told. That legacy is one I hope he and his family will be eternally proud of.
