Guys
So poch reckons heβs going to make a full 11 changes for this game but that should still be a decent team.
Imo one of the CBs or Dier will have to start again due to not having the players to rest all 3.
My predicted team:
Gazzanga
Aurier Toby Foyth KWP
Waynama Winks
Eriksen Dele Son
Llorente
Subs: Vorm, Trippier, Davies, Sissoko, Skipp, Lucas, Lamela
Although I can see Sissoko starting instead of Llorente and Son playing up front.
Line up for WHU

Anybody who has supported Spurs for more than a few years will have seen far bleaker times than this but that doesn't mean that fair criticism isn't merited at the moment.
Due to work commitments I couldn't go last night so I turned off the phone and radio and stuck the planner on when I got in at 9. I looked at our line up compared to Citys and then watched the players come out onto a ploughed field with NFL markings infront of a half full stadium. We tried hard but were completely outclassed for the majority of the game and we are now light years behind a team we were beating 2 years ago.
If you are not a bit embarrassed and fed up today then you must have been on the goofballs.

yeah but Lloris

Just embarrassed by our fans hysterical whinging tbh.

If Levy came out publicly to explain why that squad couldn't be strengthened over the summer then there would be a lot more support for him and understanding of the overall project. Instead all he wanted was your money
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We know why. It’s our billion quid Stadium.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fine..... Then come out and say so... Its what HE wanted. Don't tell us that the stadium has no impact on Transfer activity
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spot on. I think we as fans (well I speak for myself) would accept if he turned round and said we’ve had to cut back on the spending because of the stadium. As we haven’t been told otherwise we have to believe his initial thoughts that it would have no impact. If that’s not the case then he’s either a liar or he’s too afraid to come out and say he got it wrong or circumstances have since changed. Either way, us fans deserve the truth.

he has come out and commented. He has said we had a budget. He has said we tried to get players but they were not available (for whatever reason) and that we saw no exits from the club which were expected. He also said, in so many words, that he/Poch will not just buy for the sake of it. We have our targets and will go for them.
Unless you want him to say who we expected to sell, what our budgets were and who we were after there is not much more that can be said.
Right now, with the exception of maybe Llorente, we have cover in every position. We have never stock piled players so there's no point having 3 LBs with one never seeing the pitch. Also if we want a new LB, then sell the old one and we have a bigger budget. The double whammy of not selling is wasted wages and wasted/reduced transfer kitty. That is how we have always existed and have to, especially now given the Stadium.
Our difficulty is that we are now at the top end of the table and to improve requires top end players. Traditionally we have been able to trade up to get us up to that top end. To move us to the very top as we all know requires massive spending, or very careful selective spending. The latter is hard to achieve as targets will be few.
Overall, with a fit squad, we could have Lucas, Son, Winks, Wanyama, Sanchez & Aurier on the bench. Its not the worst bench....sure we're probably lacking a world class player to make all the difference but that's it really. Some players need upgrading (FBs, DM) but if we cant off load what we have its hard to replace with quality given our financial restrictions

Agree with 90% of that but its the point "and that we saw no exits from the club which were expected" because Levy wants top dollar for his players that he underpays and yet low balls other clubs for their best players. Not exactly a smart move for a guy who appears to be operating with limited resources & an obsession with minimal net spend. I bet there are a ton of chairman laughing their ar5es off at the current difficulties he's facing..... he deserves it

TBH, i'd say 15 of the 20 chairmen would gladly swap their position for "our current difficulties"
I get where you are coming from re: sale values, but all other chairmen are at it. £75m for Zaha . £50m for Sigurdsson. £52m for Fred. +£40m for Fabinho who's barely kicked a ball for LFC. Keepers costing £70m+. Utd offering £40m for Alderweireld.
I think our issue is that Utd didnt want to sell Martial. Palace wouldnt budge on their value of Zaha. Players like Malcom went to Barca (& doesnt play!). Bale stayed at Real
Im pretty sure we have money to spend. We just don't have it to waste.

Nobody here has said we need to spend £100m+ on players, not too sure where this fiction has come from.

maybe not £100m but they are advocating buying overpriced average players, then when we do they are unhappy when we play the likes of sissoko and say they are overpriced and not good enough to play for us, who i think actually had a good game last night, you cannot tell who will fit and who wont and apparently if poch's targets are not available for whatever reason he would rather stick with what he has, so how is that levy's fault

Who are these average overpriced players being mentioned? The only mention of such players I’ve seen has been from the club bidding for Grealish and rumours that we want Dack from Blackburn. Just about every player I’ve seen discussed on here in recent months would improve our squad, unless of course it’s posters I’ve filtered coming out with these duds you’re referring to.
Any examples?
