One match ban enabled
Karanka and Forest fans generally will be looking for a much improved performance and result tomorrow.
Top of the table is far to tight to call, normally the front runners would be sorting themselves out between now and Christmas, but perhaps this year is going to be the exception to the rule?
Billy Sharp is the Blades leading marksman, although he rarely seems to play a full match and started from the bench the game before last.
Their other leading striker is David McGoldrick who hasn't found the back of the net for a while [scored a penalty in a 1-0 win over Hull] but is very likely to score against us, as he hardly ever scored for us!
Fox and Soudani are injured, Colback is serving a one match suspension and possibly only Dawson will start after Tuesdays fiasco.

Thought he was the one to score it, wasn’t until the announcer said Grabban that I thought anyone even touched it. A little disappointed for the lad as it was some good work.
After a first half where neither team threatened each other, I’m surpirsed how we scored and stayed comfortable, even with Shef u throwing their keeper up.
A deserved win, and the fact we got 7 points from Boro Leeds and united will probably start to turn heads.
And raise expectations...
We’re going to lose to stoke aren’t we...?

Of course we bloody will Monkey!

Great results.
Starting to prefer playing the teams at the top as Forest always seem up for it.
it is the teams at the bottom we have to worry about.

Grabban is so important this year to us though. Glad Carvalho is starting to show his quality as well.

When Forest play teams below them in the table, pin the league table on the dressing room wall upside down...

What a great game. I thought S Utd looked very average. I'm amazed that they were in first place.
Games left to play before the halfway point in the season:
Stoke (H) - 15th
Hull (A) - 23rd
Villa (A) - 14th
Ipswich (H) - 24th
Preston (H) - 21st
Derby (A) - 4th
QPR (H) - 11th
Historically we play better against loftier teams in this division , so a great idea on the league table Will!!
However, by the time we play Derby. We could both be in the Auto's at this rate and with those fixtures.
Oh, I put $200 on and got $575 back. Sweet!

I don’t think there are any outstanding teams in the league yet like we have seen with Wolves and Newcastle in recent seasons. I get the impression that Sheff Utd are a good team at home but might lack a bit of pace away from home with their ageing forward line.

The next 5 games in particular look interesting as you have three teams that have seemingly struggled all season and two teams who have the quality to be much higher in the league but (bit like ourselves) are inconsistent.
The question is can we be ruthless enough to hurt teams low in confidence and out of form?

Got to be confident that Forest will push on now. They proved my opening prediction of the season right and have now got themselves into a good position now autumn is here.

Whenever watching forest this season there’s always an almost ominous feeling that at one point something is going to click.
Either forest are going to go on a run, or one team will figure us out and stick it to the board for ever other team to follow.
Saying that, we’ve played 4 of the top six and got 7 points in WWDL, and arguable put in performances worth 9. There’s an arguement there to say we’ve already clicked, and just had tougher opposition. The one team ‘lower’ in the league team in our recent run was bolton and we put 3 past them with no response.
Not to add any pressure to the team....

We're definitely getting there, but there is still a way to go. The Millwall/Burton type performances are getting rarer; and we are not conceding as many late goals as we used to.
AK now knows his best team I think but we have yet to see where Yacob and Ansarifard fit in. But it wouldn't be Forest if we didn't have a concern over the LB spot. That has to be the number one target come January. Jack Robinson has been a terrific signing and even without Danny Fox the back four looked solid against Sheff U. But we need a better option than Osborn when Robinson is unavailable.
From where we are now it won't take much to finish in the top six. We have quality and depth in the squad. Others don't have the depth of squad that we have (Norwich, Sheep), and they will struggle to stay there if the teams like Villa and WBA stay on course. There will probably a dark horse which will make a late run at the play-offs
