Yep that was the one I was gonna say plus when we beat Barca 3-1 in the home leg of the CL and the crowd were singing "are you Tottenham in disguise"

I agree with all the chosen matches in the OP but this was also a game that was omitted. The atmosphere at the 3-1 Barca game in 2000 for me was on a different level to the Barca games that followed even though they were good as well. I actually lost my voice after that game from shouting so much and the MH stand was shaking like it was for the Bruges game also.

Any favourites from the 70s, 1969?

The Fulham 55k Second Division one in 1976 or Crystal Palace FA Cup games were pretty memorable from an atmosphere point of view if memory serves.

The Liverpool FA Cup game in 1978 was pretty noisy although the Bridge was so open in those days that a lot of it used to get lost.

The Spurs game in 1978 was a noisy and lively affair, one way and another, the one where they pulled the fences down.

These are some of my faves from the period.

Was that the 4-2 win with Clive Walker?

One of my favourite Chelsea games as a kid..

and then we go and lose to feckin Orient at home

Biggish, yeah that was the Walker game. Once Bates stopped allowing the boys to go on the North Stand the atmosphere properly died when you just had 1 or 2 quadrants on the big open terrace being used and the rest sitting there empty.

The Palace FA Cup quarter final around 76 has always been the stand out to me.

I was squashed in The Shed, over towards The White Wall, it was impossible to move and you just had to go where the sway of the crowd took you.

The noise was deafening - especially when Malcolm Allison tried approaching The Shed to give us a two handed thumbs down!

Chelsea pool 4-2 Clive walkers opening goal was a screamer, dead straight still rising as it went in top corner. even though Clemence could watch it all the way he couldnt get near it. crowd was rocking that day too.

Looking at videos of it now, you can't believe how poor Liverpool's turnout was... sparsely filling two pens for a Cup game. You would expect 10k not 2k
