Being old school I always used to wear one, but the last two or three years I have stopped. It has become so politicised now, that I no longer buy one. Gone are the days when you brought and wore one a few days before the 11th November, and wore it for a few days. These days, I have seen them on TV three or more weeks before the 11th.
Both my Grandfathers fought in the 1st World War, My father fought in the 2nd World War. I lost an Uncle, who was just 18, in the 2nd World War. I choose just to remember both the Great conflicts now for the whole year, rather than just on one day of the year, as is the supposed norm.
I don`t like the idea that sportsmen, etc are being forced to wear a poppy, when they may have reasons not to.
Wearing a Poppy, yes or no?

Anti War, Pacifism and Peace.

Fair enough. However I’m not sure that’s necessary as there’s an implication there that the red poppy is pro-War or at least not anti war. And of course the red poppy is also anti war.

"There are three elements to the meaning of white poppies: they represent remembrance for all victims of war, a commitment to peace and a challenge to attempts to glamorise or celebrate war."
