As a complete aside, but picking up on the idea of a tv series, I was listening to Radio 2 on Wednesday night and Lee Child was on promoting his new Reacher book. He said they were going to move away from the movies because, as much as he liked Tom Cruise, he wasn't Jack Reacher, and they're hoping to do a series instead on Netflix or something similar.

He wants a big imposing ugly bassa to play the part.

I know a lot of the boys on here read the books so might be interested

Love the books. The most recent was good. Usual Reacher book but very enjoyable

A series makes sense as each book could be an hour to 90 minute long episode

Plus Jim Caviezel would play him well

I'd read most of the Lee Child books until Tom Cruise played Jack Reacher Total travesty. No way is he Jack Reacher. Not read any since.

Tom Cruise was an absolute joke in the role.

Lee Child books are hardly booker prize short list material.

Easy going read for the beach but a masterpiece in literature they are not (nor are they meant to be).

Tom Cruise wasn't everyones cup of tea in the role but then it wasn't fekn Shakespeare

Light weight movie has light weight star.

Duke, the only point being made here is Reacher is 6ft6 and 18St.

Mr. Cruise is somewhat different in stature and him being cast in the Reacher role is just silly.

The only point I make is its a make believe story for everyone 15 years old and above.

It really doesn't matter if its Tom Cruise or Tom Thumb

Escapism has to be a bit believable.
Tom short rse Cruise trying to be a menacing 6ft6 giant is totally out of place and warps the story too much.
