Chorley won 4-0 away against promotion rivals Kidderminster on Saturday, so will be feeling confident.
With Tommy Rowe back we will be stronger and all things considered it must be a game that we will be strong favourites to win. Such a win will help the general belief in the team and bring a boost to the confidence for the important league games coming up.
I will say 3-0 and May with the goal if he starts, otherwise Butler. 6000 there.

Obviously Alfie got MoM with his well taken four goals but there were some very good performances elsewhere. Mason was terrific at RB and after Anderson's barmy second yellow he filled in comfortably next to Butler with Blair filling in at RB. Kane was allowed the freedom of the pitch and he took full advantage with an Andrea Pirlo style demonstration of bossing the middle of the field. Sublime. Again nothing went right for Marquis, even having his penalty saved but finally, on or around 85mins, he scored a blinder. He was clearly annoyed at the stick he was getting from some of the crowd which, given that he never stops trying, was unfair. On to Charlton.

I always thought Beestin had more potential than May, but thought May was a good prospect. I love the interviews when he says he is living a dream. I'm glad he made his first full professional hat-trick, and look forward to more from him.
I hope Marquis' goal has got him back on-track. I think it useless to say he "runs his socks off" if his first touch and finishing has been as bad as it has been over the last few games. I admit he takes opposition away from his team-mates, but his #1 job is to be a striker. My nephew and grand niece are season ticket holders and say Marquis is a good League Two striker, but nothing else. I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of flack for saying this, but actually being at the games and not seeing what players do "off camera" means my judgement is limited.

I think I said recently that I thought Marquis level was no higher than League 1. However he does have a different less aggressive role this season. He did well on his own up front last year despite often having to rely on brute strength and the more sophisticated attacking team job is more challenging.
Just as Copps is a more skilful player now than he used to be, Marquis could still develop.

A great performance and score but I left the ground thinking we could have scored more. May wasted an easy tap in when on his own in the middle from a good cross and Marquis as well as his penalty miss was put through a couple of times but his finishing was poor.
It was pleasing for him to score a goal and he has been poor finishing recently and I'm sure he knows that hence we've not been picking up many points however hopefully this goal can reignite him and he goes on another scoring spree.
I can see why the family would say that Mickey and at times you sit there thinking how many chances will he waste but he is more than capable of scoring 20+ in league 1 but he needs to stay in the box rather than drifting into wide areas. The best strikers are seem as foxes in boxes or poachers and I see John as one of those.
Great win and our biggest at the KM 👏👏👏

At 5-0 I genuinely thought we could go on to better the Darlington record win.
Still, we shouldn’t grumble after a 7-0 win, they are very rare.
As for Marquis, his scoring record for us is right up there with the best we have had and will be incredibly difficult to replace when he goes.
I agree with Azza that he may now go on a scoring run after his latest barren spell, strikers often do that.
I don’t agree though that he is a fox in the box type of striker, like say Sharp was.
JM doesn’t get many tap ins.
If we could get someone like that to play with him I reckon we could finish in the top two.
I do think though that McCann should have a rethink and take JM off penalty duty, he just isn’t good at them.
Mason should get the job back.
As for Anderson, it was a mistake by the ref to give him the second yellow.
Anderson slipped as he turned, partly because the Chorley number nine (who is a very good player by the way) had hold of his arm.
He was doing it all game to both Anderson and Butler and Butler even spoke to the ref about it during the first half.
Although we won by a big score it shouldn’t go unnoticed that the gulf in class and ability between the two teams was massive.

Thanks lads.
I thought i had been decided that we were having a different pen taker.
26 has done well at it but in the past he has never stepped up to do it readily but in the past he as done it.
I dont get the fox in the box thing.tho.
Marquis chases everthing and puts himself about all over the pitch for 90mins
Those who knock him .....be careful what you wish for..
As for Mason.......i told you so....mostly on my own

Well out of all of Marquis goals this season only 2 haven't come within the box. Make of that what you will. I firmly stick to my statement.

Don, Alfie Hales scored four against Darlo in the 10-0 game.

I've always thought it was 5, so I'll try and remember correctly if ever there is a next time. I think I remember that I was at the Rossington end, so the weather must have been fine. I also think I recall that we didn't get the headlines because Celtic scored 11 the same day.
