So I was thinking, with the never-ending debate about Kante being played out of position, could there be a possibility of Sarri making slight changes to his formation, by playing both Jorginho and Kante in the holding role in a 4-2-3-1 formation?
I strongly believe that this formation will finally bring out the best in Kante, and also allow Jorginho to dictate the play, with more protection from Kante.
Thoughts?
Holding role: Jorginho & Kante in a 4-2-3-1

Too similar in midfield with what we have...we need a playmaker and a striker

Jorginho can only dictate play against the lesser teams who just sit deep.
Anytime he is pressed, he looks out of his depth.
I have suggested in another post to play them alongside each other but Sarri is not going to change his style and philosophy.
Midfield is an issue, left side of the defence is shocking and we don't have a striker.

Teams were pressing Jorginho at the start and he was still very good, he would cleverly find pockets to evade the marker or release the ball early to advancing teammates.
He's been awful past two games but hopefully it's exceptions rather than the norm.

about half a dozen games back I was questioning what Jorginho was contributing, others said watch him closely...which I did & changed my mind, he was very effective at doing what Kante does....didn't do this yesterday...Kante did
I question why Kante is playing forward of him still...

Kante was also bad yesterday, the guy was caught out of position constantly, and was losing the ball.
There is a far bigger question mark surrounding what Kante is contributing in this current system. Swapping these players around will not be the solution.
Kante has always been best playing in a midfield two. We have seen that he can struggle playing as the holding midfielder, remember losing 3-0 to Arsenal under Conte?
Also, Kante is not good enough on the ball to effectively dictate the game.

I actually would like to see Sarri experiment with the 4231, to see what would happen.
Right now Kante looks lost, and Jorginho completely isolated.

I'd drop Jorginho and play a three of Kante, Loftus-Cheek and Kovacic/Fabregas. That has much better balance.
