DUFC News

The Terrors weren't in action at the weekend due to the majority of clubs in the league being in Scottish Cup action, but it's an important week for the Terrors coming up.

On Friday night United host Ayr live and exclusive on BBC Alba and I'm looking forward to the game massively. It's got nice and tight at the top of the Championship, with Ayr, Ross County and United separated by 3 points following County's 2-1 win over Dunfermline at the weekend in the leagues only fixture.

I'm hopeful Fyvie will be back for the game as he's crucial for us. Defensively we'll need to be strong against one of the top strikers in the league so we'll be looking for Edge to continue his fine form.

A couple of decisions for Neilson to make. Does he continue with Watson at right back or perhaps turn to Murdoch? Watson didn't have a good evening against Alloa last week so he may decide to make a change. If Fyvie doesn't play does he continue with Rabbitsch, who is far from a fan favourite but does a lot of the dirty work in the midfield? And does he stick with Clark in behind Safranko, or does he bring King back in and put McMullan in behind?

Elsewhere, the Scottish Cup 4th round draw sees United await the outcome of the Montrose v Annan tie for an away fixture. The Angus side would be my preferred opponent for logistical purposes, which means Annan will of course triumph.

In terms of who is likely to drop down to next season's Championship, it was a right wee shame to see Dundee pick up a big point only for St Mirren to pick up an additional two points. Bless. I'll pretend I care about who is going to get promoted from League One to compete in next season's Championship just so it justifies my dig at Dundee...I assume Raith are doing well? Who cares.

Mon the Terrors.

I stopped reading just before this part.

You should have continued. There was a mention of Dundee's terrific result that leaves them further adrift at the bottom of the table.

You picked a bad day for this post. If you had said ticket allocation somewhere it might have been alright.

Meh. It was never going to be a comment collecting post. I like to think that folk find it generally interesting though.

Posted at the same time as a standard "Celtic = good, Rangers = bad.
No wait, Rangers = good, Celtic = bad post" guarantees no traffic.

But, I still couldn't care too much about Championship....
Sorry!

Arbroath are absolutely scudding it at the top of League One - ten points clear already. Could be an interesting derby for one of the Dundee clubs. Going by current form it's more likely to be the Dark Blues than the Tangerines.

Will be good to be back on TV, even if the commentary is incomprehensible gibberish. I hate Sky Sports.

You mean the dark blues that are unbeaten in weeks now? Or the tangerines who didn't even get a point at the weekend?
