5 in a row

That's 5 defeats in a row in Europe away from Anfield.

That's quite a worrying statistic. A lot of tough games in there but you feel it might be contributing to the lack of confidence amongst the players that we are seeing in these games.

That win at the Etihad feels a long time ago.

Let’s just agree to disagree but if you’re in a midfield 3 and the only players ahead of you are Salah, Mane and Firmino and you’re saying they shouldnt be criticised for not being able to support the front line purely on the basis of them being DMs then I think you’re being too simplistic.

This was a big game and I expect all 3 midfielders to not just battle and win the ball back but to find the channels for the 3 forwards.

Well that's what they did wasn't it? Ultimately they were up against a top attacking team, which made their job more difficult and the defensive side more important.

Let's not forget that we're the highest scoring team in the competition since the start of last season up to now. So clearly the midfield have been supporting. I mean wasnt Milner the top assister in the CL last season?

I’ve just read that 1-0 against Napoli will take us through. Can anyone confirm this?

This is correct. We'll be level with them on points and head to head goals scored, head to head away goals and head to head overall goals. It will then come down to who has scored the most. We have 8, they have 7.

Really interesting if that's all correct!

Highest scoring team means fack all especially over such an arbitrary timeline.

We've not scored a single goal away from home in open play this season in Europe. That's a more relevant stat for you.

I think the positive thing for Liverpool is that it still feels like it will click at somepoint.

And even without playing that well they are positioned well in the league and still in with a good chance of qualifying in the CL.

Keita and Fabinho have yet to show the ability they showed for their former teams and we've seen that it's usually taken a while for new signings to get bedded in under Klopp. So at some point you would expect them to start influencing games more.

More worrying would be Salah looks half the player and last season clearly was a one off.

9 goals 3 assists so far this season. He actually looks better now than he did in the first couple of months of last season. Very frustrating at times but he always has been.

semi final loss.... irrelevant. won at home.

final.. concussed gk... cheating ramos.. thats the breaks

group stage 1.. napoli away. we were absolutely awful but should have been 0-0.

group sarge 2. red star no excuses, none. absolutely the pits

groupsd stage 3. psg away outplayed and out fought.

the first 2 games forget it.

the 3 group games have imo exposed our midfield total. none want the ball, none want to control the game. we just kick possession away.

the funny thing is people tried to convince me that we wouldn't miss Coutinho cos he held the ball too much and slowed us down.

fair play to ox fior covering the cracks i suppose.

the prem is all kick and rush so we get the ball right back after lumping it,.
